Aug 22,  · I have read and enjoyed several of Morgan Llywelyn's books and wanted to read On Greener Shores. But I noticed that Druids is the first book in the two-book series, so read it first. It tells the story of a young boy living in pre-Roman Gaul who exhibits some amazing gifts and becomes an apprentice to the chief druid/5(78).

This book's protagonist was pretty unbearable. I kept reading it for the historical value I thought Druid book would provide, but seriously, this main character druid Ainvar, spends the whole book basically thinking up "druid" things to say.
